Province Introduces Respect For Municipalities Act, 2005

On November 28, 2005, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing introduced theRespect for Municipalities Act, 2005.  While a copy of the bill is not yet available, it apparently will amend the Taxpayer Protection Act to allow the province to give municipalities new fiscal powers.  We will post a copy of the bill once it is available.

With only 7 sitting days left in this legislative session, the City of Toronto Act and OMB reform are undoubtedly soon to follow.....
