Davis LLP Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Its Edmonton and Calgary Offices

Davis LLP celebrates the 10th anniversary of its Edmonton and Calgary offices on July 1, 2012. In 2002, Davis LLP expanded into Alberta by merger with Lucas, Bowker & White, a well-known Edmonton firm with extensive expertise in the oil & gas and financial sectors, and the opening of a new office in Calgary. Since then, the firm has grown substantially, now boasting over 80 lawyers in Alberta and a strong client base in major industries such as oil & gas, financial services, energy, and manufacturing.

One of the firm’s major achievements in Alberta has been the growth of its P3 practice. Davis has closed five major infrastructure projects in Alberta, two of which were award winners – the Anthony Henday Drive Northwest Leg Ring Road and the Alberta Schools #1 PPP Project. The teams who worked on these projects were comprised of lawyers collaborating across the firm from Edmonton to Vancouver to Toronto.

Other practice areas have also flourished in the Alberta market, including Corporate/Commercial and M&A, Securities & Corporate Finance, Pensions & Benefits, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, Litigation and Employment & Labour.

Strategic long term growth and integration is equally a focus for Davis. The firm’s efforts in Alberta were realized when three of their new partners, Dana Schindelka, Jennifer Cleall and Rachel Hamilton, were named Lexpert Rising Stars in 2007, 2009 and 2010 respectively.
