Tony McArthur represents a broad range of clients in their business law matters, including their investments, expansions and operations domestically as well as internationally.

Tony is the Managing Partner of the Firm's Tokyo office. Tony practices in the area of business law, including mergers and acquisitions, international commercial transactions and finance, with an emphasis on M&A, natural resources and energy, infrastructure projects/PPP.

Tony has resided in Japan for over fifteen years and speaks Japanese. He was admitted as a practicing lawyer to the Bar of British Columbia, Canada, in 1983. In 1996, he was admitted to practice foreign law in Japan. In 1997 Tony was the founding partner in the Firm's Tokyo office, establishing the first Canadian based law office in Japan. He has lectured frequently in the field of international legal and commercial affairs.

Tony is ranked as a leading lawyer for corporate/M&A for Japan and Canada by Chambers Global: Guide to World’s Leading Lawyers. He advises on:
