Lance Williams is an associate in the Vancouver office’s insolvency group and commercial banking group. Lance is a member of the bars of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, and has been involved in significant insolvency files, commercial files and lending transactions in all three provinces.
Specialising in the area of commercial insolvency, Lance’s practice includes advising and representing trustees, debtors, directors and creditors on insolvency and restructuring issues including debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, loan workouts, fraudulent preference actions, foreclosures, bankruptcy and receiverships. Lance has particular experience regarding restructurings involving: forestry, oil & gas, retail operations, real estate, agriculture and fraud. In addition, Lance often advises borrowers and lenders on all aspects of secured lending transactions, including acting for major financial institutions on ABL lending, real estate-backed loans and syndicated loans. Lance has particular expertise in relation to Personal Property Security Act security and enforcement, and has authored articles in this area. As a member of the bars of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, Lance regularly advises clients in all three provinces and on multi-jurisdictional matters.
