Since completing his articles with Davis LLP in 2004, Jeff Horswill has been a member of Davis LLP's litigation department. His practice focuses on achieving practical results in the resolution of his client's disputes, whether by negotiation, mediation, arbitration or litigation. Jeff's practice has been one of general litigation and dispute resolution counsel. He is thus experienced in a wide range of areas and more importantly, in thinking in terms of the client's tactical and strategic goals and quickly adapting to the particular circumstances of any given dispute. 
Jeff acts most commonly in the areas of international law; shareholder disputes; product liability litigation; complex fraud cases; and in litigation for or against aboriginal bands or governments. He also has considerable experience conducting and advising on investor-state disputes under the NAFTA and other international investment treaties. The cases and disputes in which Jeff acts often involve novel legal elements, complex facts, and difficulties created by the dynamics of the parties themselves. He enjoys the challenge of mastering the new issues that invariably arise in complex cases, and bringing a broad range of experiences to any dispute in the search for its practical and effective resolution. Jeff has acted as counsel in a wide variety of forums including all levels of British Columbia and Canadian Federal Courts, formal and informal mediations, and ad hoc arbitrations conducted under the UNCITRAL Rules.
