Biographie

Angeline Nyce is an associate in the Corporate/Commercial/M&A, Aboriginal Law, Forestry, Mining and, Japan Groups at Davis LLP in Vancouver. Ms. Nyce's law practice focuses on business structuring, acquisitions, forestry, mining and land use issues and Aboriginal law. She is a registered professional forester who also possesses a degree in forest resources management.

Ms. Nyce has experience assisting and advising clients on tenure acquisitions and asset transfers; due diligence reviews; leasing; corporate and not-for-profit matters; employment issues; and, aboriginal and treaty rights (including, consultation and accommodation). Also, she has assisted in negotiating forestry, mining and other land use related agreements (eg. Accommodation Agreements such as Participation Agreements and Impact Benefits Agreements; and, Memoranda of Understanding and Letters of Intent). She has also been involved in other types of transactions relating to property rights, land tenure and, economic and community development on aboriginal (both non-treaty and treaty settlement lands) and on Crown lands.

Before becoming a lawyer Ms. Nyce worked in the forest industry, engineering forestry roads, planning cut blocks, conducting silviculture surveys and prescriptions, preparing operational plans and, managing planting and brushing crews. She also worked for government (federal and Aboriginal self-governments), inspecting fishing vessels and fish plants for quality control, researching PSP and regulatory and compliance issues; and, she has worked for not-for-profits, including post-secondary institutions, conducting general and legal research including, reviewing cooperative agreements and proposals.

Ms. Nyce joined Davis in 2009 as an associate after articling and practising law in Greater Vancouver.
