Student Resources

Professional Development

One feature that distinguishes Davis from many other major firms is the degree of responsibility that our students and associates are encouraged to assume early in their careers. Students and associates are also encouraged to pursue their own professional interests and develop specialties. Davis provides them with the necessary resources and training to do so.

The Toronto office also participates in an ongoing series of student seminars, originating from our Vancouver office and dealing with practice-related topics of interest.

We sponsor various of social events throughout the year, and encourage our lawyers and professional staff to socialize outside of the office.

The Law Library

Our firm law library is administered by a professional law librarian and experienced library assistants, who provide reference assistance to our students and lawyers across Canada. Online research is, of course, available and all of our students are trained in using and searching computer databases.  All students and lawyers have access to Quicklaw and Westlaw.

Offices and Administrative support

Each student is provided with an office, and receives administrative support from a legal assistant.  Other legal assistants throughout the office provide additional assistance, as required.
