Davis LLP Lawyers Win Extraordinary Injunction on Behalf of Qikiqtani Inuit Association

A legal team from Davis LLP was responsible for a “major legal victory” for Canada’s Inuit that was delivered in a Nunavut courtroom on August 8th, 2010. Representing the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), Peter Jervis, David Crocker, and Jonathan Davis-Sydor obtained an interlocutory injunction to stop Natural Resources Canada from conducting a seismic testing project in the ecologically rich Lancaster Sound and North Baffin Region of Nunavut; a project that was of great concern to the Inuit communities in the region.
