Davis LLP’s Shane Onufrechuk Awarded Ritchie McCloy Award

Davis LLP senior tax advisor recognized for contribution to the chartered accountancy profession

Vancouver, B.C. – Davis LLP congratulates Shane Onufrechuk, CA, a senior tax advisor in the firm’s Vancouver office, on being awarded the Ritchie McCloy Award for his contributions to the chartered accountancy profession. The award, given by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC (“ICABC”), recognizes the value of a Chartered Accountant (“CA”) or non-CA's contributions, whether through an individual project or a series of activities.

"Shane’s contributions have been invaluable," said Richard Rees, FCA, CEO of the ICABC. ”We are very pleased to honour him with the Ritchie McCloy Award."

Onufrechuk has been an active volunteer with the ICABC since 1997. In addition to being a long-time member of the ICABC Professional Development Taxation Forum, he has contributed greatly to the Institute’s professional development program, the CA School of Business, and the CA Education Foundation of BC.

Onufrechuk joined the ICABC Taxation Program Committee Advisory Group in 2005, and has served as group chair for the past five years. He also currently chairs the ICABC Taxation Forum, which he joined in 2006. He has contributed to the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ professional development program, and has authored several tax courses that are offered across Canada.

Onufrechuk is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, a director of the Human Dignity Initiative, and an avid runner and triathlete.

The Ritchie McCloy Award was established in memory of Ritchie W. McCloy, FCA, former CEO of the ICABC. In addition to their dedication to the CA profession, award recipients must embody values such as openness, honesty, and generosity.
