Rachel Hamilton Named a Rising Star

November 29, 2010 - At an awards gala held in Toronto on November 25th, Rachel Hamilton of the firm's Edmonton office, was one of 47 lawyers honoured as a Lexpert Rising Star, an award honouring Canada's Leading Lawyers Under 40.

As a successful corporate/commercial lawyer, tireless ambassador for the firm and committed community advocate, Rachel was recognized as one of the country's most impressive young lawyers.

Often involved in complex cases, Rachel's practice focuses on providing strategic legal and business advice to private businesses, pension plan sponsors, and real estate owners and developers. She is a regular contributor to firm publications, blogs, bulletins and seminars. As a natural leader, Rachel has been responsible for numerous lateral hires in the Edmonton office since joining the firm in 2000 and is also a valuable mentor to the office's students and associates. Rachel has also served as a Director and Secretary of Cornerstone Counselling Society, a not-for-profit counselling agency.

Rising Stars are chosen based on a number of categories: success and/or complexity of cases, leadership, contribution to firm profitability, business acumen, adaptability to change, scholarly awards and affiliations, and ability to be a team player. Rachel scored highly in all categories.
