The Queen, in which the Court unanimously upheld the Canada Revenue Agency's use of the General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR). Adrienne provided commentary for Drew’s article. Excerpt from the article: And while the decision offers some clarity on when GAAR can be invoked, there will never be a way to provide perfect certainty when it comes to GAAR, said Adrienne Woodyard, associate counsel with Davis LLP in Toronto.
