Davis Lawyers Noted in October Issue of Lexpert

Davis lawyers made quite a splash in the October issue of Lexpert.

Rodney Snow's appointment as the President of the Canadian Bar Association was noted in the "On the Move," section.

Rodney is a partner in the firm's Whitehorse office and is the first CBA president to hail from Northern Canada. In his new role, Rodney is focussing on access to justice and professional development for lawyers.

Under the "Big Deals" section on real estate, Rolf Kaplun and Michael Mjanes were profiled for successfully assisting First Capital Realty acquire Semiahmoo Shopping Centre, a 293,000 square-foot shopping centre in Surrey, British Columbia.

Two teams of Davis lawyers were mentioned for their Zenith-award-winning pro bono work:

• Ross Clark, Q.C., Jeffrey Horswill, Monika Gehlen and Morgan Burris received recognition for their effort to have women's ski jumping included in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics
• Brent Rentiers, Brian West, Jonathan Brown and Graham Norris also received a Zenith award for the legal services they provide to Pathways to Housing project in Calgary.
