Workplace computers can make jobs easier and a company more productive, recent developments in the law have also made them a growing source of potential liability.

Dan Black, an employment lawyer at Davis in Toronto, said Ontario companies should "be concerned about their own workplace if they have employees using computers. . .

[The law] does not create a positive obligation to comb through systems." The reporting obligation applies "only if you happen upon it."
