Biography
Warren Downs is engaged in a general corporate and commercial law practice with an emphasis on the natural resources sector. He has significant experience in public-private partnerships, joint ventures, limited partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, environmental, construction, corporate finance and forestry matters.
Mr. Downs is British Columbia counsel to a major oil and gas producer and distributor in environmental and real estate matters and has acted for a major Canadian engineering firm in connection with the negotiation, financing and construction of public-private partnership projects.
Mr. Downs has acted for one of Canada's major integrated forest companies in all aspects of the development, financing, construction and implementation of a series of "greenfield projects" throughout North America. He also acts for an international developer in all aspects of a major land development in downtown Vancouver, and several pension funds in all matters relating to comprehensive real estate development projects.
Mr. Downs has been listed in Lexpert, an American Lawyer Media publication, as one of the top 500 lawyers in Canada. He has been awarded the "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available. He has also been listed in the Best Lawyers in Canada Directory, 2006 for Environmental Law.
