Biography
Sarah Dale-Harris is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Law, Technology & Outsourcing, Video Games & Interactive Entertainment and Commercial law practice groups. Ms. Dale-Harris works closely with clients in the strategic creation, development, management, commercialization and enforcement of their intellectual property portfolios, and primarily advises clients regarding the following issues:
- Drafting and negotiating licenses and other business related agreements, including software and hardware licenses (and acquisition) and service level agreements, vendor agreements, professional/technical service agreements, third party marketing/advertising (including IAB related terms), settlement, confidentiality, distribution, manufacture, supply, re-selling, franchising, material transfer, clinical trial, collaborative research and assignments for a variety of industries including software, video game, Internet-based, giftware and other consumer products, renewable energy, biotechnology and pharmaceutical
- Drafting web-related documents, including end user license agreements, terms of use and privacy policies
- Strategic development, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights
- All matters relating to the registration of trade-marks, domain names and copyrights in Canada
- Transfer and acquisition of intellectual property rights
- Advising on privacy related matters including statutory compliance
- Enforcement of rights in respect of trade-marks, domain names and copyrights
- Advising on intellectual property-related matters for due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, licensing and other agreements
- Negotiation and settlement of domestic and international retailer (collections, e-commerce, intellectual property) and service provider (contractual) disputes
Ms. Dale-Harris joins Davis LLP having spent several years with a successful boutique intellectual property firm in Ottawa and more recently spending several months working in-house with the creators of one of the largest and most popular interactive websites/video games in the world.
