Sadie Wetzel

Sadie Wetzel is associate counsel in the Vancouver office of Davis LLP where she practises in the areas of Tax, Wills, Estates and Trusts.
Sadie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1995 and her law degree in 1999 (both from the University of British Columbia). She joined Davis LLP in 1999 after articling with the firm. Before joining the firm, Sadie was a customs inspector at the Vancouver International Airport. Sadie advises clients on their estate plan and regularly prepares Wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements and inter vivos trusts. Her advice is sought by individuals who are concerned about the effect their death or incapacity may have on the financial well-being of their loved ones. Sadie also advises successful business people on estate freezes when they are looking to transfer their business operations to the next generation. Sadie advises clients on matters including trusts and provincial disability benefits. In addition to assisting clients with trusts and estate planning, she also advises clients involved in income tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and has appeared in the Tax Court of Canada. She regularly lectures to client groups and to the public on Wills, estate planning, trusts and provincial disability benefits. She has been a guest instructor for the Professional Legal Training Course of the Law Society of British Columbia and in 2012 updated several chapters of the Law Society's professional training materials. Sadie has also been a guest speaker at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, the Pacific Business & Law Institute, and the Wills & Trusts (Vancouver) Section of the Canadian Bar Association.
