Biography
Rosanna Wong is a member of the Law Societies of British Columbia, Hong Kong, England and Wales. She is associate counsel with Davis, and formerly a partner at another major law firm. She has a broad range of experience in corporate, commercial, securities, and real estate transactions, with a special focus on Asian investments in Canada. Ms. Wong's practice further includes immigration work for both individuals and corporations.
Ms. Wong offers her clients a wide spectrum of services. For clients moving to and/or investing in Canada, she handles immigration applications, business and real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, and any related tax planning. For Asian corporations seeking a listing on a Canadian stock exchange, Ms. Wong advises them regarding listing requirements and procedures and represents them in reverse takeovers of stock exchange-listed companies in Canada, or in initial public offerings on a Canadian stock exchange. Ms. Wong has also acted for a foreign company already listed on a foreign stock exchange in its secondary listing on a Canadian stock exchange.
Ms. Wong represents clients mostly from Asia, including state-owned corporations from the People's Republic of China, public companies in Canada, and Canadian subsidiaries and affiliates of public companies in Hong Kong. In this era of business without borders, Ms. Wong represents clients who need a business lawyer with global exposure. Ms. Wong has extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional transactions, and has worked with lawyers in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, England, United States, Australia, France, Malaysia, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Bermuda and British Virgin Islands. In her immigration practice, Ms. Wong is engaged by multinational corporations to handle the legal work for moving and/or recruiting senior management personnel from other parts of the world to Canada. Ms. Wong has lectured and written on business law and immigration law.
To provide a full range of services to her clients, Ms. Wong works closely with lawyers in other practice areas, such as tax, intellectual property and litigation, while providing additional assistance to her clients, particularly where her ability to speak and write the Chinese language is useful to them.
