Biography
Robert Groves is experienced in the commercial aspects of insolvency transactions and in all aspects of secured lending transactions, in particular acting for financial institutions and other lenders in security-taking and enforcement matters. He has a particular expertise in real estate financing transactions including conduit loans.
In addition, Mr. Groves provides advice to a major credit union on regulatory matters with emphasis on issues relating to privacy and money laundering.
As part of his commercial practice, Mr. Groves has worked extensively on a significant number of large tax-driven film production transactions.

- Represented debtors in insolvency sale of business assets
- Acted for receiver of a major hotel property
- Ongoing advice to suppliers, financiers and lessors of commercial and consumer vehicles and equipment
- Numerous opinions to trustees in bankruptcy on enforceability of security against the estate
- Numerous secured lending transactions, including land and personal property security, for various financial institutions and other lenders
