Biography

Robert Banno is engaged in a business practice with an emphasis on corporate and commercial law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, as well as project development and project financing. He has extensive experience in infrastructure, natural resources and land development projects.

He has been actively engaged for many years in the firm's Japan practice, having acted for the Canadian subsidiaries of Japanese corporations in respect of their operations and investments in Canada.

Mr. Banno is also engaged in an active aboriginal law practice, particularly in respect of economic development, corporate, taxation and governance matters for First Nations.

He has lectured for the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C. and the International Conference of Shopping Centers on topics such as aboriginal law, land development on Indian reserves and doing business in Canada, and has organized courses in trade law for the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Mr. Banno was born in British Columbia and has practised law in this province since 1969.

Mr. Banno is a director of a number of corporations.
