Biography
Paul Albi is a senior counsel at Davis LLP where he has practised litigation since 1979. He has appeared before federal and provincial courts and tribunals, including the Federal Court of Canada, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Mr. Albi holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, with a concentration in finance and economics. His litigation practice emphasizes complex commercial and financial issues, including those related to family law, shareholders' remedies, forensic accounting and regulatory matters.
Mr. Albi has consistently been independently rated as one of British Columbia's leading family law lawyers by Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada, two prominent peer-review publications. Mr. Albi has also been featured in B.C. Business Magazine in an article profiling British Columbia's best lawyers.
Mr. Albi has served several terms on each of the firm's management and finance committees. From September of 1998 until December of 2004, he served as National Managing Partner of the firm. During this period and under his leadership, Davis LLP expanded significantly and became the only British Columbia-based national law firm in Canada, with offices in all major Canadian cities.
A significant contributor to the legal community, Mr. Albi is published and lectures frequently.
From June, 2006 to June 2009, Mr. Albi was head of Davis LLP's 40-member Vancouver litigation department. He is also the founder and head of the firm's Vancouver Family Law Group.
