Biography
Originally from Nova Scotia, John Landry obtained a B.B.A., Economics (with Distinction) in 1975 and an LL.B. in 1980, both from the University of New Brunswick. In 1983, Mr. Landry attended the LL.M. program at the University of British Columbia and has practiced in Vancouver since that time.
Mr. Landry's practice focuses on civil litigation with emphasis on international trade, corporate commercial and energy-related litigation. In addition, he provides general and strategic advice to clients on trade and energy-related matters including issues arising under NAFTA, the WTO and North American electricity regulatory regimes.
He has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, New Brunswick and other Canadian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
He has frequently appeared before numerous administrative tribunals including the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the British Columbia Utilities Commission. He has also appeared before a number of NAFTA Chapter 11 and 19 Panels.
