Biography
A corporate and commercial lawyer who practises in Canada and internationally, Michiko Hara has extensively lectured and written on various legal topics. Mrs. Hara counsels a clientèle that does business in North America and internationally. She holds directorships in many companies and frequently provides advice on corporate governance issues as well as the duties and liabilities of corporate directors and officers. She has authored many policies and procedures manuals dealing with corporate governance for publicly traded and private companies.
After enjoying uninterrupted success since the beginning of her legal career, in 1991 she co-founded the law firm Hara Rothschild, a full service boutique that serviced the unique needs of Japanese corporations, entrepreneurs and individuals doing business in Canada and elsewhere.
In February 1997, Hara Rothschild merged with Davis LLP, one of Canada's pre-eminent national law firms. Davis LLP has Canada's leading Japan Practice Group and it is the only Canadian law firm with offices in Japan.
