Michael Adams

Called to the British Columbia bar in 2005, Michael was in private practice in Vancouver practicing first at a large Canadian national law firm and then at a well respected business law boutique in downtown Vancouver until 2009.

Michael returned to Ontario in 2009 as in-house counsel to the largest Canadian-based, human-resource consulting and outsourcing services firm, where he was involved in a wide variety of business law matters including negotiating, drafting and managing client and supplier contracts, assisting with privacy policies, advising on compliance matters, and managing litigation.

Before going to law school, Michael obtained his Bachelor of Education in Calgary. He taught high school near London, Ontario and coached hockey for a number of years.

Michael advises on a broad range of business law matters including:

• asset and share purchase and sale transactions;
• partnerships and joint ventures;
• corporate structuring and reorganization;
• general corporate counsel;
• establishing and structuring new ventures, including for start-ups;
• venture-capital and private equity financings;
• public-private partnerships; and
• casino and gaming operating agreements and regulatory compliance.
