Mélanie received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Université Laval where she was on the dean's honour list. She also studied at the University of Victoria in British Columbia as part of a Common Law/Droit civil exchange program.

She currently teaches Contract Law at the University of Sherbrooke, as well as the Law of Obligation and Drafting of Proceeding at Bar School of Québec.
