Jonathan Cummings

Associate

Jonathan Cummings works in the Edmonton Office of Davis LLP in the areas of Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, Environmental and Climate Change Law.

He completed his articles at Davis and joined the firm as an associate in 2009.

Prior to receiving his law degree and entering the practice, Jonathan obtained a degree in business administration and worked on his family's cattle ranch in the British Columbian interior.

Jonathan has assisted senior counsel with various corporate and commercial transactions inclduing acquisitions, leases, reorganizations, financings, purchases and sales. He has experience with real estate matters, both commercial and residential, and various related agreements such as easements and rights-of-way.

He has been a part of and worked with teams at Davis LLP to complete such transactions as the divestiture of a landfill occasioned by the Competition Tribunal and the refinancing of approximately $130 million for the purchase of assets by a large Canadian trucking company.

In addition to his Corporate and Commercial experience, Jonathan had been involved with environmental and climate change issues including contaminated sites, remediation, foreign ownership of land and the evolution of Canada's climate change law. Correspondent with this experience, he is a member of the firm's Environmental and Climate Change Practice Groups.
