Duncan Shaw, Q.C.

Duncan Shaw is a retired justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia (1987 - 2007). Prior to his appointment to the Bench, he was with Davis & Company (now Davis LLP) from 1957 to 1987. His practice included aviation, commercial, forestry, administrative, tort, property assessment, criminal and other areas of litigation.

He was general counsel, appearing before trial and appellate courts (including the Supreme Court of Canada) and before various administrative and arbitration tribunals.

He is now an advisor to the firm on litigation matters.

He has been a frequent organizer of and presenter at seminars of the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia.

He is a past Chair of the Legal Services Commission and the Legal Services Society of British Columbia.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
