Brent Meckling

Partner, Vancouver

Brent Meckling is a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group and a past member of Davis LLP's National Executive Committee. Brent acts as trial counsel and advisor in a broad range of business disputes with extensive experience in commercial litigation, environmental law and shareholder disputes.

Brent appears regularily in the British Columbia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal and before commercial arbitrators and mediators and administrative tribunals, including the British Columbia Assessment Appeal Board and the British Columbia Environmental Appeal Board.

He acts as litigation counsel in commercial and corporate disputes and regulatory proceedings in a variety of areas, including contaminated sites, real estate, forestry, securities, mining, intellectual property, construction and breach of contract claims ranging from shareholder agreements to software design.

Brent obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1991 and also holds a BComm from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Management, with a major in Finance.

  • Brent received a bachelor of commerce degree with a major in finance in 1988 from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Management. Prior to attending university, Brent played Major Junior Hockey for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the W.H.L. as a draftee of the Detroit Red Wings. While at the University of Calgary, he was a four-year member and captain of the Varsity Hockey Team.
