Alexandra Bochinski

Alexandra is a member of Davis LLP’s civil litigation department. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of complex commercial disputes and has appeared at all levels of courts in Alberta on a diverse number of issues. Alexandra has experience in administrative law, builders’ liens issues, contractual disputes, employment law and pension law issues. She has dealt with a number of complex disputes including:

• appearing before the Court of Appeal for a sister company of a large retailer of furniture, appliances, and electronic equipment, and successfully overturning the trial decision that taking fees for extended warranties made the company liable for insurance tax;
• appearing before the Court of Appeal for a large construction company to successfully overturn a chambers decision that concluded that the construction company was not a party to a mandatory arbitration agreement in a large dispute over the construction of a warehouse floor; and
• successfully appearing for an application seeking judicial review of a decision of a tribunal of a community college (the Board of Directors of a the College’s Faculty Association Professional Standards Committee).

Alexandra also practises environmental law and her experience includes advising clients regarding environmental liability and defending environmental prosecutions under federal and provincial legislation, including two prominent prosecutions under the Fisheries Act.
