VisualSonics sale to SonoSite for $80 million

Visualsonics, a privately held Toronto-based micro-ultrasound technology firm, has been acquired by SonoSite Inc. (SONO.O), a maker of ultrasound systems, for about $71 million net of cash and debt.

SonoSite expects to benefit from Visualsonics' presence in the pre-clinical market.

Davis LLP represented Visualsonics in the transaction. The team included Sam Schwartz, Eric Belli-Bivar, Mike Richards, David Foulds, Justin Mooney, Andrew Lord and Nicole Kapos of the Toronto office, along with Paul Lailey of the Vancouver office.
