Joint Venture Between Intelligent Energy Ltd. and Suzuki Motor Corporation

Intelligent Energy Ltd. (IEL) and Suzuki Motors established a 50-50 joint venture to produce fuel-cell power systems for electric vehicles. The fuel cells will be manufactured in a plant in Shizuoka, Japan.

Tony McArthur, Hiro Takahashi, and Koji Kawamura of the Tokyo Office represented IEL in the transaction. IEL is a UK-based company with advanced fuel cell technology. Suzuki Motors is one of Japan's largest auto makers. The new joint venture is expected to launch commercial operations for electric vehicles equipped with the new fuel-cell systems in 2015.
